DUBYA'S VICTORY MADE ME SICK
JON Bon Jovi claims he's spent the last two years in a deep depression - after George W. Bush was elected US President for a second term.
In 2004, the singer campaigned to get Senator John Kerry elected to the White House.
Four years earlier, he had joined forces with Democrat candidate Al Gore to beat Bush.
And the singer revealed there are now some countries in the world he is scared to visit because of the HATE for American citizens caused by the Bush administration.
Bon Jovi's latest chart-topping album is called Have A Nice Day. But the title is far from optimistic.
Jon told me: "It's tongue in cheek. If I'd had to start off the lyrics with the words, 'Dear Mr President' it would have been much more self explanatory.
"I was crushed when Bush got re-elected. I was so depressed and am still gravely disappointed with the results of both elections.
"I think history will verify that the world would have been a much better place if the outcome had not been that way."
Jon' s father served in the US military and the singer has spoken out in support of forces serving in Afghanistan and Iraq. He said: "I'm never going to be invited for tea at the White House.
"But I've never gone on stage - before the elections or since - and slagged off Bush.
"Not because I agree with him in any way, out of respect for the office of President.
"It's too obvious to bash Bush. Everybody knows what I think about his policies."
But Jon and his wife Dorothea nearly got into a punch-up a few days after Kerry was beaten. Jon said: "We went to a local bar for a couple of drinks to cheer ourselves up.
"On the way home we passed a couple who were in their sixties. I could see the recognition in their eyes so I said, 'How ya doin?'
"The old guy replied, 'I only got one thing to say to you' - and put his hand in the sign of a 'W'.
"I went bananas - and that wasn't one tenth of how badly my wife reacted. Needless to say, it's been a difficult last couple of years.
"It's heartbreaking many people now view Americans with suspicion.
"At one time, we were everybody's best friend. We could go to places perceived as dangerous territories. Now, I'd think twice about asking our road crew to travel there."
And I do agree. Bush sucks!!!! I just don't mind having no respect for the office of the pResident now! Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
